Case Study: Employee Holiday Gifts with Sustainable & Artisanal Touches

Introduction:

In 2023, a prominent repeat client approached our company with a unique challenge: to reimagine their annual employee holiday gift box. The client sought to depart from the conventional approach of multiple items and instead focus on one significant anchor item that would resonate with their diverse employee base. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of selecting a gift meant for sharing, aligning with the post-pandemic trend of increased social gatherings.

Client's Objective:

Our client, a forward-thinking organization committed to fostering a sense of community among its employees, aimed to provide a meaningful gift that not only celebrated the spirit of togetherness but also supported small artist entrepreneurs. They sought to convey appreciation to their employees while championing sustainability and artisanal craftsmanship.

Solution:

After extensive brainstorming sessions and careful consideration of the client's requirements, our team proposed the concept of "The Art of Grazing" gift box. This theme celebrated the joy of gathering and home entertaining, reflecting the evolving social landscape post-pandemic. The centerpiece of the gift box was a hand-poured serving board, crafted by the talented artist Nicole Ann Hughes. Each board was a unique piece of functional art, embodying elegance and sustainability.

Key Elements of "The Art of Grazing" Gift Box:

  1. Hand-poured Serving Board by Nicole Ann Hughes:

Nicole Ann Hughes, a self-taught artist based in Southern New York, poured her passion and creativity into crafting exquisite resin serving boards. Sustainably sourced from quality Canadian woods, each board featured food-safe resin designs inspired by aerial views of the earth. Nicole's dedication to blending function with style resulted in stunning serving pieces that captivated our client and their employees alike.

  1. Sustainable Entertaining Essentials:

Bee's Wrap: A pioneer in eco-friendly food storage solutions, Bee's Wrap offered organic cotton wraps infused with beeswax, plant oil, and tree resin. Their commitment to sustainability, demonstrated through B Corporation certification and partnerships with organizations like the 5 Gyres Institute, resonated with our client's values.

Decorative Parchment Paper: Inspired by the French tradition of natural decoration, this Sisson parchment paper added a touch of elegance to any dining experience. Versatile and whimsical, it could be used under cheese, fruits, bread, or as creative table decor.

Perch Home Cheese Knives: A set of four marble-handled cheese knives were the perfect addition, complementing the artisanal nature of the gift box.

  1. Custom Packaging:

To enhance the presentation of the hand-poured serving board and align with the sustainable theme, we designed custom shipping boxes. The interior of each box featured a faux bois design and the message "A Gift for You," welcoming recipients to the thoughtfully curated contents. Natural wood excelsior, biodegradable and non-toxic, provided both aesthetic appeal and environmental consciousness.

Outcome:

The "Art of Grazing" gift box exceeded our client's expectations, garnering enthusiastic feedback from their employees. By championing sustainability and supporting small artists, the gift box not only fostered a sense of appreciation but also reinforced the client's commitment to social responsibility. It served as a testament to the power of thoughtful gifting in strengthening employee engagement and corporate culture.

Conclusion:

Through collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to sustainability, we transformed our client's vision into a memorable corporate gift experience. The success of "The Art of Grazing" gift box highlighted the potential for corporate gifts to make a meaningful impact while promoting values of community, craftsmanship, and environmental stewardship.
